About the Role
We are a national compliance infrastructure organization supporting aesthetic and wellness practices through compliant MSO-PC structures. Florida's Medical Practice Act requires that med spas operating under a physician PC be directed by a physician in a specialty directly related to the services offered — dermatology and plastic surgery satisfy this requirement by statute.
We are looking specifically for a Florida-licensed dermatologist or board-certified plastic surgeon to serve as medical director for med spa clinics in our Florida network. This is a stable, per-clinic 1099 engagement within an established physician oversight infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Serve as the medical director for assigned Florida med spa clinic(s), satisfying the state's specialty-director requirement
- Serve as the collaborating or supervising physician for NPs and PAs performing aesthetic, wellness, and weight loss services
- Review and approve clinical protocols and standing orders (pre-vetted by our clinical council; you are reviewing and signing off, not authoring from scratch)
- Conduct periodic chart reviews per Florida's supervision requirements
- Remain available via established escalation pathways for clinical questions from supervised providers
- Maintain active, unrestricted Florida licensure and notify us promptly of any board actions or license changes
What You Won't Do
- No PC ownership. We own and operate the professional entities.
- No GFEs. We operate a dedicated GFE network; you are not responsible for Good Faith Exams and will not be the bottleneck on patient volume.
- No billing or collections. All administrative operations are handled centrally.
- No protocol authoring under pressure. Protocols are developed by our standing council of physicians, APPs, and pharmacists. You review, provide input if desired, and sign off.
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in Florida, in dermatology or plastic surgery (required by Florida law for med spa medical director roles)
- Board certification in dermatology or plastic surgery strongly preferred
- Clinical familiarity with the following: neurotoxins and fillers, laser and energy-based devices, body contouring, medical weight loss (GLP-1), HRT, or IV therapy
- Comfortable with a remote, documentation-driven oversight model
- No active board investigations, disciplinary actions, or license restrictions
- Active DEA registration
What We Offer
- Competitive monthly retainer per clinic, paid on a reliable cadence and decoupled from clinic revenue (your income is predictable regardless of clinic performance)
- 1-year contracts per clinic engagement with a 60-day exit clause for flexibility
- Your choice of opportunities. Before any assignment, you receive full clinic details (location, provider licensure, service mix, and planned additions) and you decide whether to accept
- Backup medical director coverage through our physician network during vacations and planned time away
- Professional liability coverage through CFC/Lloyd's of London. Policy covers your oversight, collaboration, and supervising provider role.
- Centralized compliance infrastructure: licensure tracking, protocol storage and delivery, and signed provider acknowledgements managed for you
- We bring the clinics. You provide the oversight.
How to Apply
Submit your CV/resume along with a brief note outlining:
- Your Florida specialty (dermatology or plastic surgery) and board certification status
- Your clinical background in aesthetics, wellness, or weight loss
- Your general availability for chart review and provider escalation
This is an independent contractor (1099) position. You are responsible for your own taxes. Professional liability coverage is provided as described above. Company name shared with qualified candidates upon inquiry.
